

New Global Councils Chairpersons on SDGs (2021-2023)
The inaugural meeting and soft launch of the Global Councils on SDGs took place virtually under the theme ‘‘Galvanizing the Global Acceleration of the SDGs’. The second term of the Global Councils on SDGs (2021-2023) will have 17 Councils drive impact towards the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through innovative projects, whitepapers, or initiatives to rebuild sustainably in a post COVID-19 world.
The objective of the meeting is for introductions from Global Councils Chairpersonsand to set expectations for their Councils, to identify cross-council collaboration opportunities to foster partnerships for the goals.

High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development
Themed, ‘Building Back Better’ after COVID-19 through Addressing Health Equity, Mental Health, and Well-being: Contributions of Psychological Science and Practice to Leave No One Behind. The virtual event was moderated by Health In Your Hands co-founder Dr. Judy Kuriansky, and also featured Ikure, a HIYH innovation that was showcased as "Voices from the Field"

Partnering for UHC Roundtable Series
The Partnering for UHC Roundtable Series returned with a second edition, on the occasion of World Health Day 2021 and the theme of achieving equity in health. This special series is a part of a larger
collaboration between the UHC2030 Civil Society Engagement Mechanism (CSEM) and the UHC2030 Private Sector Constituency (PSC) to discuss the successes, challenges and opportunities for multi-stakeholder partnerships in the context of achieving universal health coverage (UHC).
The roundtable is co-organised together with the World Bank PSC and UHC2030 Secretariats.

HIYH presented at the World Government Summit 2020
“Health in Your Hands” (HIYH) was honored to be presented at the prestigious World Government Summit 2020 on 9 December 2020 in the session on “SDGs in Action: Preparing for the Decade of Action.” The event celebrated the first term of the UAE initiative and the progress of the “SDGs in Action” Global Councils and launched the second term for 2021-2023.
The title of the event, “SDGs in Action: Preparing for the Decade of Action” refers to the decade (of 10 years) remaining for achievement of the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the UN Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development that covers the years 2015-2030.

UN General Assembly 2019
An event sponsored by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), held during the prestigious United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) at UN headquarters in New York in September 2019 -- when governments and honored attendees come together annually -- at which the UAE-identified Global Councils presented progress on their chosen projects. Our SDG 3 Global Council members, Dr. Khalid Erichsen and noted psychologist and advocate at the United Nations Dr. Judy Kuriansky, presented the HIYH initiative.

UNGA 2019 dedicated side event on SDG3:
In September 2019, on the theme “Innovative Projects, Policies And Financing Models To Reach Those Left Furthest Behind”. Sponsored by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the UN, the Office of the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, the Permanent Missions to the United Nations of Canada, the People’s Republic of China and Cuba, the World Health Organization (WHO), the Global Councils for the SDGs, the UN Major Group for Children and Youth, Mission&Co, the International Association of Applied Psychology and the United African Congress.

72nd session of the World Health Assembly (WHA)
Held in Geneva, May 2019
Attended by delegations from all WHO Member States, with the objectives to determine the policies of the Organization, approve the budget, honor individuals and projects, and offer many side events highlighting initiatives by governments and civil society. The HIYH initiative launched the call for applications and revealed the first 20 innovations featured on the platform at the international stage, at the World Health Assembly in May 2019. Dr. Khalid Erichsen was invited by Pradeep Kakkattil, Director, Office of Innovations, UNAIDS, to present on a panel about Innovations in connection with the debut of the UNAIDS Health Innovation Exchange
